"Loneliness"

Why it doesn't struck to people that someone is going through a very bad patch in his/ her life and even if it did , nobody shows any difference.Then why these people come forward when everything is over?If they would have really cared it wouldn't be the situation.The fact remains that it is the hypothetical society and it only cares when it comes to them.
